Introduction To Monsoon Methodology©

Monsoon Methodology is a thought process that helps business owners, or anyone to reach his business goal by identifying innovation opportunities, structuring and fine tuning the innovation to maximize the result, and channeling the innovation to the right platform for expansion.

This Methodology draws upon the analogy from the commonly understood weather phenomenon of the monsoon season to enable the practitioner to better internalize and communicate his innovation process.

Monsoon Methodology is an engineering problem-solving & decision making (PSDM) based thought process that can show most value in work improvement projects. However, due to its trends scanning, component synergy, and group validation processes, Monsoon Methodology is typically deployed in a Blue-Ocean (citation) type of product or business creation situation.

There are two unique processes in the Monsoon Methodology:

  • The Storm (Component Synergy) is the process that identifies all the relevant components in the ecosystem; assemble them to produce the desired result, and then scrutinizing the assembly mercilessly.  It is through the scrutinizing step that the assembled product / business is further optimized to maximize value.

  • Group Validation is the process that ensures the assembled product or business has the mass appeal.  This is also a step in communicating the product or business to the public who will eventually be the adopters and users.

By using Monsoon Methodology, businesses or individuals can harness the group synergy (a.k.a. web 2.0, user generated content, social network et cetera) to create second wind for their business.
