OUR MISSION

“Go forth … as messengers of the Dhamma, for the good and happiness of the many, out of compassion for all beings.” The Sri Bodhiraja Foundations finds its inspiration in this foremost admonishment of the Buddha to his first sixty disciples. In the words of founder Venerable Dr Omalpe Sobhita Thero, “ Buddhism should not be limited to only spiritual development. Nor confined to the bounds of the temple. The true essence of the Dhamma must be infused into our daily lives and applied to the secular world.” Thus the Foundation sets out on its mission – to serve the community, to bring happiness to all sentient beings, and ultimately to guide them towards the path of Enlightenment.
